Finding the Magic in Every Leaf: Photographing Proven Winners leafjoy® Houseplants

For the longest time, I thought having houseplants in my space was out of the question. I was too busy, too forgetful, and honestly? I was afraid they’d all die. And yes—some of them have died. But along the way, I’ve learned that houseplant care, much like anything worth doing, is a journey. With every new leaf, every little sign of growth, I’m gaining confidence, figuring out what each variety needs, asking questions, researching, and embracing the process.

That’s what makes photographing Proven Winners leafjoy® houseplants so special to me. It’s not just about capturing their beauty—it’s about telling the story of growth, care, and the joy of bringing nature indoors. Whether it’s the soft glow of sunlight filtering through a Monstera leaf, the way a trailing vine finds its path, or the colorful, velvety leaf textures of my Rex Begonia, my plants remind me daily to slow down, nurture, and appreciate the little things.

I absolutely love styling a group of houseplants to create imagery that feels just as intentional, authentic and full of life as the houseplants themselves. Because the right images don’t just showcase a product—they invite people into a story.

I'm super proud that my Proven Winners leafjoy® Houseplants are grown right here in the Shenandoah Valley, nurtured with care by local growers who pour their expertise and passion into every leaf. There's genuine joy in that greenhouse!

My houseplants have taught me patience, resilience, and the simple joy of watching something grow. Whether you're a seasoned houseplant parent or, like me, just getting started, there's something special about creating a space filled with life.
